Days begin at sunset (Erev) and end at sunset of the following day

Weekly Shabbat begins sunset Friday and ends sunset Saturday


Rosh Chodesh (8th Hebrew Month)

At sunset, on October 10th, 2018, the renewed moon of the 8th Hebrew month was sighted in Jerusalem, Israel by two witnesses. "Blow the ram’s horn at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our festival day." - Psalm 81:3

Rosh Chodesh (9th Hebrew Month)

At sunset, on November 8th, 2018, the renewed moon of the 9th Hebrew month was NOT sighted in Jerusalem, Israel by two witnesses. Therefore, by default, November 9th, 2018 marks the 1st day. "Blow the ram’s horn at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our festival day." - Psalm 81:3

Rosh Chodesh (10th Hebrew Month)

At sunset, on December 8th, 2018, the renewed moon of the 10th Hebrew month was sighted in Israel. "Blow the ram’s horn at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our festival day." - Psalm 81:3

Rosh Chodesh (11th Month)

At sunset, on January 7th, 2018, the renewed moon of the 11th month was sighted in Israel. "Blow the ram’s horn at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our festival day." - Psalm 81:3

Rosh Chodesh (12th Hebrew Month)

At sunset, on February 6th, 2019, the renewed moon of the 12th month was not sighted in Israel due to cloud cover. However, the 12th month begins at sunset due to the end of the 30th day. "Blow the ram’s horn at the time of the New Moon, At the full moon, on our festival day." - Psalm 81:3

Rosh Chodesh (1st Hebrew Month)

At sunset on March 7th, 2019, the renewed moon was not sighted in Israel. Therefore, March 8th, at sunset, begins the new month and the new year! Chag Sameach! "This month is the beginning of months for you, it is the first month of the year for you." - Exodus 12:2
