Rosh Chodesh (Aviv)
March 22, 2015
On March 21, 2015, the renewed moon was not sighted in Jerusalem due to cloud cover. Therefore Rosh Chodesh (Aviv) defaults to March 22, 2015. Barley in the Aviv stage was found in Tekoa, just outside of Jerusalem around March 15th. Therefore, Passover will begin at sunset on April 4, 2015.
“And Elohim said, “Let lights come to be in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years, and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth.” And it came to be so.”
Genesis 1:14-15
