Shalom!
We have received several comments/messages concerning the announcement of Yom Teruah and the declaration of the 7th month (Tishrei). The answer lies in the barley search that took place earlier this year and the final determination of the beginning of the Festival calendar. There was much confusion over this regarding the barley teams that went out. Rivkah and I wrote much on this subject (including videos) as to why Passover began in March and not in April (according to Rabbinic).
If you would like further information, please return to our blogs/videos and podcasts that were recorded in detail regarding the calendar this year. If you do a search on ‘barley’, it should pull up the appropriate blogs–or search the blogs written in March/April this year by scrolling to the bottom of the Blog page.
Blessings!
Derek and Rivkah
Hi Derek, does Yom Kippur begin on the evening of September 11th or the 12th as per Yedidah’s last article (page 2). I thought It was from the evening of the 9th day which would make it the 11th. Many thanks and blessings Regards Lin (from Australia)
Evening of the 11th. I fixed it in her letter but she must have it in the article also. I will fix it. Thanks!
