Into the Storm – Out with Praise

“And the men marvelled, saying, “What is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”

Matthew  8:27

Boker Tov (Good Morning),

I wanted to give a quick praise to Abba report. I was sitting in the living room this morning, thanking Abba for protecting us the other day, so I decided to tell about it here. He always deserves our praise, doesn’t He?

A few days ago, while traveling the freeway to my dad’s house, I received an alert on my phone. The alert indicating a tornado warning, and that I should take shelter immediately. I hadn’t really paid attention to the weather, as my thoughts were elsewhere, but when I received that alert, I looked around and noticed I was driving right into a large storm.

As I exited the freeway, I noticed the black line of clouds on the horizon, and below it was a solid green color. Green in the sky is never a good sign because it indicates the right conditions for tornados to spawn. At that time, I texted Rivkah to pray. She had heard of the storm and knew it was coming towards her school where she was teaching.

As I drove closer into the blackness, I began rebuking tornadoes, damaging winds and hail–not only for myself, but for all the people in the area. I also began to loudly proclaim and speak in tongues, non-stop, until I arrived at my dad’s house. When I turned onto the little road that winds around a golf course, the winds and rain picked up severely. I set my face like a flint and knew I must arrive at my destination. The rain whipped around the car, and I saw large branches and debris shooting across the road in front of me. I found out later that the wind gusts were from 60-70 miles/per/hour.

I continued to praise and rebuke the winds, while I was remembering my favorite story when I was a child–Peace Be Still (Matthew 8:23-27) I knew I had power over the elements. I knew, though fear tried to take hold and grip me tight, I cast it off in the Name of Yahushua. I remembered the authority backing I had from my Papa, my Abba Father. He backs my words because I back His Word. I was not rebuking the storms because I did not want it to ruin my golf game (smile). No, I was not commanding the storm because it might interfere with some entertainment I had planned. The purpose of the authority backing He gives His servants, is to carry out His Word into the earth. And should there be a hazard, or emergency–we have the power, by His Spirit, to remove any obstacle that stands in the way of accomplishing His work.

I finally pulled up in front of my dad’s house. I had no damage to the car–Praise His Name! I went inside the house and was safe. A few days later, I realized something. While I was driving through the worse part of the storm, though the wind gusts were powerful enough to flip a car over, I remembered how easy it was to keep the vehicle on the road. I was not pushed aside to the right or to the left. I went straight through it. I can only imagine the unseen Messengers (angels) that my Abba sent to protect me.

This is a testimony to Abba. When we determine to go through the storm with Him, He will make sure that we stay on course and that we do not drift off to the right or to the left.

While I was inside the house, I texted Rivkah what had happened, and thanked her for her prayers. The storm moved on and through her area where she was teaching. All that happened at her school was the lights had flickered off and back on again. Springtime in Texas–lots of storms! Yet, when we are on assignment for the Master, nothing can touch us. We may go through delays getting to our destination, but we always arrive safely! The enemy will come against us, but he will not take us out!
