Shabbat Shalom!
As we prepare to enter the Passover week, we wanted to share (or should we say re-share) an article previously written about worship. Not only worship, but ‘unleavened’ worship. What is unleavened worship? It is the simple, pure worship that results from being de-contaminated of the leaven in our lives through allowing His oil, His wick, His flame to burn brightly – exposing the hidden areas of our inward parts.
Sometimes it is easy to ‘overlook’ the details and make blanket statements about ourselves saying, ‘were ok’, and that the little ‘foxes’ within us are just nuances of our “personality”.
Abba Father, the Creator, Yahuweh Himself is interested in those “little nuances” because it is the little things that spoil the ‘grape vineyards’ of our life. Learning to know what pleases Him and what does not, takes an action of examination of within. Nobody enjoys being under the microscope of His Spirit, but without a close examination, the details of leaven remain and will work to destroy us, contaminating the pure work He has begun in us.
As we remember the bondage we were brought out of through Messiah Yahushua – Our Savior, let us finish crossing over into what He has prepared for us, leaving behind our sin to be drowned in the sea of His judgment. If our sin is not put to rest, covered over by the Water and Blood, it will follow us wherever we go – seeking to hunt us down and consume us as Pharaoh’s army intended for the Children of Israel.
It is time we sing the song of Moses – the unleavened worship of a Creator Who has done wondrous things for us. As we remember how He brought us forth from Egypt, let us examine our hearts for those things that keep us from moving out forward into all that He has prepared for us. He is telling us to Go FORWARD!
As He told Moses, ‘don’t cry to Me about it’ – YOU, Moses, stretch forth YOUR hand and part the sea.. (Exodus 14:15,16)
Sometimes I believe that the only thing holding us back is our own inabilities to carry out the commands of the One Who has already made clear the path before us.
Sometimes I believe it is our own limitations that we place upon Our Deliverer, making Him to bear our lack of motivation to go forward.
Sometimes I believe that we dodge going forward because we are too frightened to take the responsibility to do what He has already enabled us to do. Our prayers become the excuses for not stepping out. Our prayers beat the dead horses of paths already made plain for us.
It is time we go forward! And if that means we have to get motivated by turning around and looking behind us to see that, if we do not, the sin will catch up with us, the armies of Satan will fall upon us, and the sea that is parted before us will eventually close– leaving us no escape.
His hand is holding back the waters of escape for a little while longer…Now is the time of the crossing…Now is the time for our deliverance..
Chag Sameach!
A joyous Pesach celebration to all of you,
With much love,
Derek and Rivkah
